At first you must decide for yourself, what is the most important
things for you :
- Price
- Distance to the Beach
- Comfort
- Meals
- Entertainment
Depending of your preferences you will get different guesthouses. If you are looking for cheap guesthouse, try to look for something not on the beach. You can find a guesthouse about 300 to 500 meters from the beach and it will cost you at least twice cheaper! It's not a problem to have a walk about 5 minutes but you can sped less money. All the beaches in Sri Lanka belongs to government, there is no private beaches. It means that you can stay anywhere on the Iland and you can visit and stay on any beach you select.
Many of guesthouses offer only breakfast or Half Board. I can recommend you to take at least breakfast, because it's quite good to seat in the morning near your room and have a breakfast. For lunch you can buy some fruits anywhere in the nearest city or village. And for Dinner, I recommend you each day to select a different place on the beach. As a result you will get more memories about your staying in Sri Lanka.
